After the exceptionally popular thriller ‘Urumi’ 2011, internationally acclaimed cinematographer Santosh Sivan is back with a Malayalam movie. Manju Warrier, Kalidas Jayaram and Soubin Shahir will be playing the lead roles in this movie which will be directed by Santhosh Sivan. Nedumudi Venu, Aju Varghese, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Ramesh Pisharady are also in the cast.
Santhosh Sivan will produce this film with the help of Lanceman Studios in Dubai. The film’s shooting will start on October 20th at Alappuzha. Other locations include London and certain parts of Kerala. This first collaborative venture between Santhosh Sivan and Manju Warrier has got fans excited. The filmmakers claim that the movie will be a full-length entertainer and will espouse the thriller category. Santhosh Sivan along with a team of famous technical experts from Hollywood and Bollywood will work in the background.
Santhosh Sivan, who has been busy with foreign films, is planning to complete the movie before his long anticipated project ‘Kunjali Marakkar’. The technical perfection of ‘Ananthabhadram’ (2005) and ‘Urumi’ (2011) is still debated among movie buffs. The influence on the audience is perceived to be significant.
Kalidas Jayaram is currently doing the lead role in Jeethu Joseph’s latest movie. Though he has a handful of films like Aashiq Abu’s ‘Virus’ in his kitty, Kalidas Jayaram is proud to be associated with a Santosh Sivan film.
Soubin Shahir will also be doing a very special role along with Manju Warrier and Kalidas Jayaram. The movie could also prove to be a defining move in Soubin’s career..
Further details about the project and those in the background have not been released yet. More details will emerge in the wake of the release of the much awaited Mani Ratnam-Santhosh Sivan project ‘Cheka Chivantha Vannam’ on September 28th.
