As part of the initiatives launched by Dubai Cares, the National Charity Schools for Girls (NCS) in Nasiriyah, Sharjah, benefitted from a revamp. The Dubai Cares unit put into action about 150 volunteers in what was the second phase of the Volunteer Emirates 2019 initiative that targeted the makeover of the school.
The volunteers carried out various acts as part of the initiative. This included bringing in essentials to the school such as desks and chairs, laser printers and other stuff that would play a vital part in strengthening the learning environment of the school that is home to around 1500 students.
The volunteers then proceeded to the teachers’ lounge and stocked them with 40 desks and chairs, in addition to lending a more vibrant touch to the classrooms by putting up murals and decorative elements.
Meanwhile, the science lab was renovated with the addition of chairs, tables, sinks, refrigerators, sinks, and other equipment that are typical in a laboratory. The CEO of Dubai Cares, Abdullah Ahmad Al Shehi, said, “The goal of this initiative is to give children the tools they need to succeed, and the UAE community never fails to show up and make that happen. All that we have achieved today has been made possible through the valuable support of our enthusiastic volunteers”.
