The Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, has issued a resolution that will be aimed at encouraging government workers in Dubai to enhance their levels of productivity. The resolution would lend the workers performance targets so as to inculcate a competitive work environment and boost work efficiency.
The Crown Prince issued the resolution on Tuesday that will essentially see the inextricable linkage of government entities with the achievements of employees. The resolution will come into effect from the beginning of 2019 and will be applicable to all public sector staff. Moreover, it will also bring into force a set of predefined criteria that will be used to gauge performance assessment of employees. There will also be a specific guideline on the allocation of bonuses and incentives.
The new set of criteria will comprise performance planning, regular reviews, evaluations, budgeting and rewards and incentives. The resolution dictates that the Dubai Government Human Resources Department will be providing support to the government entities in order to implement the new system.
