In what came as an affirmation of the faith that residents have in the healthcare system of the UAE, a survey that was carried out among medical professionals and healthcare users in Dubai, has established the fact that the healthcare data of patients is extremely secure. The survey confirmed that patients have immense faith in the e-health systems that are offered in the UAE.
The patients who were asked for their opinions in the survey strongly believed that their security and privacy of data was in no danger of being breached. The survey was entitled ‘Privacy Protection Laws And Public Perception Of Data Privacy: The Case Of Dubai E-Healthcare Services’.
The findings of the survey reflected the fact that the security of the healthcare data was ensured even though there is no specific law to address the same in context of e-health. This was because of the voluntary measures that e-health service providers took to protect the data.
When it comes to e-health, much of the information about patients is stored in the systems of service providers and insurance companies for the purpose of keeping records. However, this has in no way affected the privacy of the data, as the survey has revealed.
