The very first women’s team to command boats in the Middle East has been launched to support and enhance maritime security and to provide security for events near the shores of Dubai. Dubai Police General Command, represented by the Port Police Station and the Women’s Police Council, has announced the launch.
The team will respond to emergencies and participate in events for women that require the presence of women police officers. The team consists of 11 Emirati girls who have been rehabilitated after undergoing a three-month training course. The team has a plan to train girls to become supervisors and trainers in the future, with double the number of female members in the team for the coming years.
