As the preparations for the Expo 2020 get further underway, thousands of people have come forward to volunteer their services for the much awaited event. It is estimated that more than 15,000 people have registered for the Expo 2020 Volunteer Programme. The volunteer programme invites people from different walks of life like students, housewives, employees and people of determination.
This Saturday, the two-year countdown public celebration will commence at the Burj park in Downtown Dubai. During the celebrations, anyone who is over the age of 18 can register for the volunteer programme. The celebrations are designed to lend a sneak peek into what is touted as the biggest event that will be held in the Middle East. The celebrations of the countdown will be marked by a choreographed show of the Dubai Fountain and will be accompanied by a special display on the Burj Khalifa façade.
The volunteer programme is expected to attract more than 30,000 volunteers over the course of the countdown and has already been successful in achieving the halfway mark. Everyone is enthusiastic about participating in the mega event and the volunteer programme is a great avenue to ensure that all community members get a chance to participate in the event.
