As the weekend draws to a close in the UAE and the workdays begin, Sunday morning witnessed instances of congestion on the Dubai-Sharjah route. Traffiic was slow moving in many parts of the route, with commuters lingering on the roads for more time than usual.
The Sheikh Zayed Road reportedly had a mishap this morning, contributing to the intensity of the traffic snarls. Moreover, traffic congestion was also observed on the Sheikh Moahmmed bin Zayed Road (E311) around the areas of the Al Nahda and Abu Shagarah Park.
Reports suggest that the World Government Summit commencing in the city today may be a factor in contributing to the traffic situation.
