The UAE perceives Japan as an East Asian Giant that is exceptionally talented in context of the use of advanced technology and views the nation as an inspirational developmental model. Aligning with this thought, The UAE government is keen to expand the horizons of its partnership with Japan in the field of industry, scientific research and education.
The UAE Minister of State, Dr Sultan Al Jaber, is in Japan to discuss the ways in which cooperative ventures can be furthered and sustained. Dr. Jaber, who is also acting in the additional capacity of the CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), had discussions with the Japanese foreign minister Taro Kono, Japanese state minister for foreign affairs Masahisa Sato and Hiroshige Seko, the minister of economy, trade and industry, in addition to other MPs.
After Saudi Arabia, the UAE is the largest exporter of crude oil to the East Asian nation, with nearly Dh 57.3 million of oil making its way to Japan last year. Other major exports include LPG, LNG, Naphtha and Sulphur. Dr. Jaber also held a round of talks with Japanese CEO’s and with Yasutoshi Nishimura, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister.
