There is yet more reason to cheer for Emiratis who are bitten by the travel bug. The UAE passport has marked another milestone by swiftly climbing to the 7th position on the Passport Index. This comes in the wake of developments last month when the passport had risen to the 8th position globally. Now Emiratis have visa-free access to 159 countries across the world.
The citizens of the UAE can travel to 112 countries without acquiring a visa. Meanwhile, they can get visa on arrival in 47 countries. The latest rankings follow the waiver agreement signed between UAE and Mexico. A diplomatic memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the two nations thus allowing visa-free entry for citizens.
The visa-free entry to Mexico will be applicable from October 31. Citizens can stay in the country for up to 180 days. Now, the UAE is at par with Estonia which also shares the 7th position. It is only a matter of time before the passport makes to the top spot.
