As New Zealand still grapples with the aftermath of the worst ever mass shooting on its soil, the UAE has paid a rich tribute to the victims of the attack by displaying an iconic image on the Burj Khalifa on Friday.
The UAE has also lauded the Prime of Minister of New Zealand, Jacinda Arderm, for her compassionate and unbiased tilt in the wake of the attacks that stunned the world. The PM’s picture that shows her embracing a victim of the attack was projected on the Burj Khalifa.
The prudent and wise manner in which the leadership of NZ and its people have handled the attack has garnered worldwide attention and appreciation. His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai took to twitter and conveyed his appreciation to the PM for her empathetic gestures. He tweeted
“New Zealand today fell silent in honour of the mosque attacks’ martyrs. Thank you PM @jacindaardern and New Zealand for your sincere empathy and support that has won the respect of 1.5 billion Muslims after the terrorist attack that shook the Muslim community around the world”.
