About 300 enterprising students from the UAE have been sent to elite foreign universities to study at their research centers and experience their state-of-the-art laboratories. The students benefited immensely from the knowledge they received in the various scientific fields related to innovation.
The initiative was undertaken by the Ministry of Education as an integral part of their ‘Innovation Ambassadors’ programme. The ministry aims to inspire the students to adapt to pioneering notions of creativity and innovation.
The students, who were chosen on the basis of academic merit, were sent to educational institutions like the National University of Singapore, University College in Denmark and Trinity College in Ireland, among others.
This programme was compatible with the UAE National Innovation and Fourth Industrial Revolution Strategies that endeavors to empower the youth and make them capable enough to contribute to nation building. Dr Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, assistant undersecretary at activities sector at the Ministry of Education, said that this measure was commensurate to the objective of making the UAE one of the most innovative nations in the world.
