The two enterprising astronauts of the UAE, Hazza Al Mansouri, 34, and Sultan Al Neyadi, 37, have commenced their simulation training in Russia. The training comes ahead of the journey to the International Space Station in April next year. The two astronauts’ pictures were shared by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre. In the picture, they are see aboard the Russian Soyuz spacecraft at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre in Moscow, Russia.

Both the astronauts are highly qualified young men and are presently undergoing a series of grueling training sessions to make them physically and mentally prepared for the voyage on the Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station. They will be exposed to high gravitational speeds that will simulate the conditions in space.

One of them will be the primary astronaut while the other will be the backup astronaut. Al Mansouri was a pilot in the UAE’s Air Force fying F-16s while Al Seyadi served in the military for several years.
