World’s 1st Gov Games starts today at Kite Beach

Over 1000 government workers will test out their talents and limits today, Wednesday, 9th May, at Kite Beach during the 1st Gov Games with a prize money of Dh2 million up for grabs. The world’s first Gov Games is an inter-government competition designed to promote mental and physical agility among government employees. The competition is to be held under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council.

The four-day event will bring together 143 local and 10 international teams with 90 men’s and 66 women’s teams, for testing their skills at a world-class course of purpose-built obstacles which will test their team spirit, creativity, collaboration, grit, stamina, and agility. The Gov Games will feature 156 teams representing local, federal, and international governments with Emiratis, British, Americans, Canadians, Thais, Saudis, Egyptians, Nigerians, Filipinos and other nationalities in participation.
